As a kid I spent hours in my dad’s design studio in the UK watching and sometimes hindering him and his team to create and make stuff. He gave me my love for ideas and an insane curiosity about the Arts, Design, Advertising, Film, Science and everything in between. I wouldn’t call what I do a career – it’s more of a calling, and it has allowed me to have some amazing experiences and work with some incredibly talented people. I have led teams which have built brands from the ground up and I’ve seen them go on to become successful household names across the world. I believe as creatives we live in a truly exciting age and we are just at the start of a fundamental change in the way people engage with brands.
The consumer now controls the conversation empowered by the technology in their hands. 500 years ago the Gutenberg revolution changed society forever with the invention of moveable type, allowing the mass production and consumption of information. Now we all have the ability to express and share our ideas and opinions at the speed of light, across the world, with whoever we want to. Our customers can now speak for us, make for us and share for us. Our challenge is to create the ideas and work that genuinely connects with them so that they are motivated to do so.
It’s an amazing time to be a creative person using my craft to help brands succeed in this new, dynamic and ever changing environment.
